This year, something extraordinary will happen under the Southern skies. Families, friends, and communities gather to experience Follow the Star—an immersive, outdoor Christmas journey that brings the Nativity story to life. It’s more than an event. It’s an encounter with wonder, meaning, and joy.
And behind the scenes? A village of volunteers who make it all happen.

🌟 What Is Follow the Star?
Follow the Star is an interactive walk-through experience that tells the true Christmas story in a creative, compelling way. Through dramatic storytelling, live animals, beautiful sets, and heartfelt hospitality, guests are invited to step into the night Jesus was born.
The event runs for several nights in December and draws hundreds (even thousands) of people from all walks of life. It’s a gentle, powerful way to share the love of Christ at Christmas—and it only happens because of volunteers like you.

Volunteering at Follow the Star isn’t just about filling a role—it’s about finding your place in the story. Whether you’re backstage with a walkie-talkie or dressed as a shepherd, you are part of something eternal.

🎭 What Kinds of Roles Are There?
No matter your age, ability, or personality, there’s a spot for you! Some of our roles include:
- Cast members – shepherds, angels, Roman guards, villagers, and more
- Hospitality team – welcoming guests, offering refreshments, creating a peaceful environment
- Set-up and pack-down crew – creating the immersive spaces and making the magic happen behind the scenes
- Tech and logistics – lights, sound, radios, and all the little details
- Prayer and pastoral care – offering gentle support and prayer during or after the journey
- Animal handlers, costume assistants, marshals, greeters… the list goes on!

Whether this is your first time volunteering or you’re a seasoned servant, we’ll support you with training, guidance, and a joyful team atmosphere. You’ll be equipped and encouraged every step of the way.
